You could if you wish, increase the appearance of volume and where a petticoat or crinoline under it. The bodice is sleek and fitted with a pretty flat pleat detail running across the bust. It has light boning through the front and the side zipper means the back is left unbroken. The simple halter strap slips over the neck or you can tuck it and wear it strapless! Fantastic early piece in easy to style basic black!

The dress is unlined and closes with a side painted zipper and the halter slips over the head and around the neck. There are some small flaws and it is priced accordingly. It was let out slightly at each side of the bust and at the back and there are fainted rows where the original stitches were on all vertical seams. There is scuffing and faint fading here and there along the hem and some small pinholes. These are all minor and expected in a piece this age. It is stable and wearable.

He loves it new favorite
